There are a number of major events held during the year such as receptions, competitions and exhibitions. Below are listed upcoming events and the information pertaining to those events, including downloadable requirements and entry forms.

Valentines will be judged by a panel with awards going to:
(1) Most Romantic
(2) Most Original
(3) Funniest
Prize money of $150 and ribbons will be distributed among the winners.
Valentines must be portable and the artist's original design. They will be accepted Friday, Feb. 5, and Saturday, Feb. 6 at the Art Center of Baytown, 110 W. Texas Ave., 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
There is a limit of 4 entries per person. Entry fee is $5 per entry. Valentines must be securely
marked on the back or otherwise hidden from the judges' view, to include artist's name, address, and name or number of the piece. A duplicate of this must be submitted at the entry desk.
Valentines should be presented ready for display, such as hanging on the wall. If the design is
more diminsional and/or requires special display, then the artist is responsible for any
special display.
Presentation of awards, antique Valentines and foreign Valentines will be featured at a Valentines party at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14.

Open to members of the Art League of Baytown. This is a month-long gift gallery where artists and crafters can sell their creations. All items must be created by the entrant.
The 2009 Candyland Christmas Gift Gallery is accepting entries. Entrants who are not members of the Art League may join at this time (download Membership Application) or pay a $25 entry fee. Entrants are also required to donate 15% of the proceds of each sale to the Art League Building Fund if the entrant volunteers at the Gallery for a stipulated minimum number of hours. If the entrant chooses not to volunteer for the required hours, then the Art League will ask for a 25% donation from the proceeds of each sale.
More complete information can be found on the Prospectus/Entry Form. Each entrant must also have a participant number and submit an Inventory Log of the items that are for sale.
Open to members of the Art League of Baytown (you can join at any time). When is a chair more than just a chair? There are few chairs available at the Art Center priced from $2.50 and up.
Entry dates for chairs are Monday, October 12; Tuesday, October 13; and, Wednesday, October 14. A reception with music will occur on Friday, October 16 at 6:30 PM. Entry fee is $4 per chair with the best chair awarded a prize of $100. The show will run through Saturday, October 24. Entry form available at the Art Center of Baytown.
All members of the community were invited to submit photos of the consequences of the hurricane IKE for a month-long exhibit at the Art Center of Baytown. There was no entry fee and minimal requirements for the display of photos. Both "before" and "after" photos are particularly interesting. The more people who submit photo entries, the greater the impact of the show.
The opening night reception for the entrants and community dignitaries was held on September 11, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. The exhibit opens to the public on September 9 and runs for a month.
Open to members of the Art League of Baytown. Who can create the most beautiful, the strangest, the funniest maks? This competition is a chance to exercize your creativity. Maximum size 24" x 36" in any medium; must be of manageable weight, wearable and displayable. Two entries per person. Cash prizes.
We are looking for an original logo for this event so there is a contest. Submit your ideas to Marsha Landers at the Art Center by the end of July.
