About I have taken many workshops with local and nationally known watercolor artists. I belong to the Art League of Baytown, Kingwood Art Society and Watercolor Art Society of Houston. I have shown my work in The Art center of Baytown gallery, Mason on Main St. in Spring, TX. The Watercolor Art Society of Houston, and St. Luke’s Gallery in Houston Texas. I have traveled extensively and that shows in my work. I like to use my own photographs as reference material. I use animals and people as subjects, but paint still life and flowers. I paint for the pure enjoyment of it, mostly in watercolor (some acrylic). I like the way watercolor gives me permission to be more creative with colors and to capture the subject without the detail of the camera. Naturally I am pleased when someone becomes excited about my work. I guess as an artist it’s a form of validation. EMail address: judyri@peoplepc.com |
